It’s very easy to get caught in the “negative, glass half empty; we’re all gonna die so why does it even matter” mentality.
It’s human nature after all, and not only that, but our entire culture is programmed to look for share and comment on the most negative things in life.
What kind of news sells the most?
When I spend time with my youngest, who is the ripe old age of 7 these days, I’m reminded of her never ending wonder and optimism.
Curiosity that knows no bounds and a glass half full outlook on life suit her well. Yes for sure It’s easy to think “hey that’s cool for a seven year old, but I have bills to pay, a job that blows, and all I can think about is how to make it to Friday, I got no room for wonder and optimism.”
The truth is, that’s a load of crap. Who has not been served well by a little wonder and optimism in their life? Are you seriously gonna tell me that spending a little more time wondering and a little less time worrying just can’t “fit” into your life?
If that’s true, change your life, cause that’s ridiculous.
Next week try it, less worry, more wonder, less negativity, more optimism. Trust me, both my and my daughter can tell you from experience, you will not regret it!
