in·cred·i·ble | \ (ˌ)in-ˈkre-də-bəl
Definition of incredible: too extraordinary and improbable to be believed.
There is simply no other word I could use to describe the journey we have been on together.
It’s hard to believe it’s been 26 years of celebrating your incredible life Alice. I remember looking at you from across the room as you opened your gifts on your 15th birthday, and thinking to myself, “I think I could spend the rest of my life with this girl. I bet we could do some amazing things together.”
That was so long ago, yet, it was yesterday at the same time.
I can remember every single birthday, I remember 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, all the way up to today.
Today is #40.
As I think back to each and every birthday, some themes come to the surface, clearly written on the tapestry of your life. Themes of learning, of joys, sadness, happiness, trials, and victories, yet more apparent than anything else I see the theme of strength.
It’s written on the memory of every year of your life Alice.
I see a woman with the strength to learn who she really is.
I see a woman with the strength to become a mom. (4 times)
I see a woman with the strength to start her own businesses.
I see a woman with the strength to put out her first music album.
I see a woman with the strength to publish her first book.
I see a woman with the strength to volunteer her time and gifts to help those around her.
I see a woman with the strength to sacrifice most of her time & some of her dreams to teach her kids at home.
I see a woman with the strength to face the truth’s and pain buried deep inside and give them up by handing them to Christ.
I see a woman with the strength to face the most difficult times of her life with grace, beauty, and wisdom.
I see a woman with more strength at age 40, than I could have even dreamed was even was possible at age 15.
Happy Birthday Alice, I’m beyond honored to have been able to celebrate the last 26 birthdays with you, and I have never been more excited to spend the rest of our lives celebrating them with you.
I love you.
