Sometimes the greatest opportunities are just down the road.

How much more boring life would be if we always knew exactly what to expect in every circumstance in every situation.

Wisdom is built solidly on a foundation of learning from mistakes and experience.

Embrace life’s experiences, the good and the bad, let them teach you what you need to be prepared and realize that all of those skills are the irreplaceable foundation of wisdom.

Always take a moment and enjoy the view

Except sometimes it’s important to stop, take a deep breath and take in the view.

Some paths are cold, rainy, muddy, and just freaking wonderful.

If you always take the paved sidewalk, you won’t get dirty, but you won’t find the real adventures, you won’t get to experience all this life really has to offer.

The size of your vision is more relevant than the size of your person

Face it, we have been too lazy, too slow, too little belief in ourselves to do anything with our lives, and dang it, we don’t want anyone else to reach theirs either. If they do, it only makes it more apparent we gave up too soon, we didn’t try hard enough, or even at all.

Take the responsibility of teaching seriously.

Today’s fathers need to spend LESS time playing Call of Duty, and more time on their “calling” and “duty” as fathers.

Time spent in reflection is always well worth it.

It’s hard, really tough to just “stop” sometimes. Life gets all up in your grill and demands your attention, demands you run not walk, demands you get up OFF the chair and do something, and do it right now!

Sometimes you find the most interesting things when you cross over to the other side.

When was the last time you took the time or spent the effort to put yourself in someone else’s seat? To “walk a mile in their shoes?”

Peace doesn’t always come when you expect, and often must be earned with purpose and hard-fought battles.

Peace is something built on the maturity and deep understanding of who you are.
