Wisdom is built solidly on a foundation of learning from mistakes and experience.

Embrace life’s experiences, the good and the bad, let them teach you what you need to be prepared and realize that all of those skills are the irreplaceable foundation of wisdom.

Journeys are not always comfortable, glamorous, or even all that fun.

Sure the drive up on a nice road is convenient, but getting there the slow way, the better way, the “one step at a time” approach is always the best.

Always take a moment and enjoy the view

Except sometimes it’s important to stop, take a deep breath and take in the view.

Some paths are cold, rainy, muddy, and just freaking wonderful.

If you always take the paved sidewalk, you won’t get dirty, but you won’t find the real adventures, you won’t get to experience all this life really has to offer.

You’re not always going to do things perfectly;  consistent, purposeful effort will put you at an advantage over everyone else.

Most give up before they start, and if they do start, they give up when it gets hard. Brother, it gets hard early on in the journey, and it stays hard for a long time.

The size of your vision is more relevant than the size of your person

Face it, we have been too lazy, too slow, too little belief in ourselves to do anything with our lives, and dang it, we don’t want anyone else to reach theirs either. If they do, it only makes it more apparent we gave up too soon, we didn’t try hard enough, or even at all.

Sometimes you find the most interesting things when you cross over to the other side.

When was the last time you took the time or spent the effort to put yourself in someone else’s seat? To “walk a mile in their shoes?”

Peace doesn’t always come when you expect, and often must be earned with purpose and hard-fought battles.

Peace is something built on the maturity and deep understanding of who you are.

Gratitude often rises to awareness in moments of stillness.

People stab you in the back; deals fall through, stocks don’t go up, your pipes start leaking right when you don’t have the money to fix them.
