Sometimes it’s just too much.
Sometimes the crap hits the fan right when you’re standing right in front of it. Sometimes you’re looking at the steep nasty hill in front of you, and you’re certain, 100% certain you will not be able to make it, you’ll not be able to climb another 10 steps let alone to the top of the mountain.
Others have been there too. Many before you have faced the same dire scenario, the same discouraging situation. It’s easy to give up, give in, give over to the temptation to quit and take the easy path. It’s the most natural decision in the world actually. No one would blame you, no one would judge you as a failure.
You would be though.
Yea, I said it, it’s hard to hear, but yeah, if you stop before you should, if you give up before reaching the end, you have NOT made the goal, by the very definition of “failing” you have failed.
What then? Should you quit? Should you just give up? HECK no you shouldn’t, you should press on, you should push harder, you should double down, triple down on achieving your goals.
What if you already gave up? Well for sure DO NOT do what most do, do not assign yourself the title of failure, give up, and start binge-watching house of cards.
If you’ve failed you’ve been given a gift, a gift of learning, wisdom, and a challenging time in life that if used correctly will benefit you for the rest of your life. You might not see it that way, but it’s true. There’s nothing in life as powerful for learning, for gaining wisdom than not succeeding at something you have poured your heart into.
It’s painful to dig into the past, it’s hard to look your shortcomings right in the eye, but it’s amazing also. It’s empowering when you are brave enough to admit you didn’t achieve what you set out to achieve, but you’re still “ok” anyway. You still believe in yourself, and honestly, own your mistakes and realize the power of learning them for the future.
Maybe it’s time you got your butt in gear and stopped feeling sorry for yourself.
Maybe it’s time you realized that you do have value, you have learned from the past, and you’re a better wiser person because of it.
When you face a new season of life you just don’t think you’ll be able to get through just remember, others have been here many times before and have lived to tell about it. Regardless if you fail or succeed, you will better for it, and it’s just a season that will pass.
These are the times that separate the weak from the strong. Be strong.
Inspiration from the Instagram post:
There will be times when the trials before you seem too great. It’s at that time when the strong are separated from the weak.
