The starry skies tell us some things about the great big world we live in.

They tell us the world we live in is incredible, filled with mysteries we don’t fully understand, and never will.

They tell us the universe is big, very VERY big.

They tell us that some things are too grand for humans to understand.

They tell us that we are small and our problems are insignificant in the grand scheme of the universe.

They tell us we have limited context and we shouldn’t worry quite so much.

It’s just that as humans we get so darn caught up in the minutia of our problems, our “Mondays” our mistakes.

They remind us too that we sometimes we need to step back, take a deep breath, and take in all that is good and wonderful in this world. We have so much to be thankful for, so much to see and do, so many things to try and experience.

They also remind us that we have very little time, stars that are millions of light-years away are a constant reminder that we are here on this rock for a blip of time, that’s it.

They also grace us with their majesty, and sometimes they remind us that instead of worry and insignificance, sometimes we just need to lay in the grass on a clear night, breath deeply the cool night air, and gaze up at them, taking in all their wonder and majesty, and thanking God for the time we do have in this incredible place.

Take that breath, watch those stars, and don’t waste it.
