The easy path is rarely the best.
It’s a natural law of the world. Doing good stuff is hard.
Doing the right thing is harder, the high road is the more difficult road.
Part of the reason for this is because the struggle itself sweetens the experience. The incredible vista at the top of a mountain is all the more beautiful after the long, and difficult hike to the top. It’s beautiful partly because of the investment into it. The hike is the investment into the view. It’s also beautiful because few see it, it’s a unique experience because it’s rare.
It’s rare because the journey is so difficult.
Few are patient enough; few are strong enough to make it to the end.
So many drift through life, unwilling to invest the time and effort into what they’re called to, to do something amazing. They drift because it’s the easy way because to not drift it hard.
To become focused, to invest, to struggle, that comes at a cost, a cost that few are willing to make.
The ones that do change the world.
The ones that do create amazing works of art, play incredible music, start impacting non-profits, and build influential businesses.
Again, so few do, so many opportunities lost. So many called to something great, but are unwilling to put in the hard work.
So we will all suffer, we will all miss out on what could have been, it’s a shame, but it’s been that way for thousands of years.
We need your best work, your hard work.
YOU need your best work, your hard work, and If you’re unwilling to put in the pain and effort to do what you’re called to, then I hope all those episodes of Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones are worth it.
