Everyone must go through the struggle at some point. Regardless of privilege, wealth, gender, race, or age. Everyone goes through dark times in their life.

It’s part of the human condition. It’s part of what brings us together.

The dark times.

We learn a lot, grow a lot, our wisdom matures and develops. Dark hard times freaking suck, don’t get me wrong, at the same time there is a lot of good that comes from all that difficult crappy stuff.

Gratitude, perspective, wisdom, all increased through the experience of difficult times.

Without the struggle, you would have no context of life without the struggle. The stuggle itself is what makes the good times good. It’s what teaches you to embrace the good in people, in the world around you, in your community. It’s what causes you to realize the great need to fight for what’s right, to challenge yourself and others to make a difference.

Without the struggle, the work is meaningless.

Embrace the trials, consider them for the powerful context building life seasons they are. It’s going to be hard of course, but most good things, the things that are worth something, in the end, are actually pretty stinking hard.

It’s not going to be easy, suck it up anyway, you’ll be better for it in the end, and the good times will be that much sweeter.
